Dick Kroll began his career in 1960 and quickly became a key figure in the world of professional wrestling. Throughout his career, he was present at some of the most historic moments in wrestling, especially with the WWWF/WWF.
Kroll was the regular referee at major events at Madison Square Garden, including the first WrestleMania in 1985. But beyond being a constant presence, Kroll officiated in crucial matches such as the historic loss of Bruno Sammartino to Ivan Koloff in 1971, a moment that changed the history of wrestling.
One of the most memorable moments of his career occurred when he was accidentally hit by Blackjack Mulligan during a match with Pedro Morales. Thrown over the top rope, Kroll fell onto the concrete, showing his courage and commitment to the sport.
Kroll was also the referee in the controversial match between The Iron Sheik and Bob Backlund in 1983, where his quick count to crown Sheik as champion sparked a heated debate among fans.
